6 to 8 tart apples pared, cored,sliced
3/'4 to 1 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
dash of ground nutmeg
pastry for a 2-crust pie
2 tablespoon butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar,flour,spices, and dash of salt: mix with apples. If your apples lack tartness sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry, fill with apple mixture, dot withy butter. Adjust top crust, cutting slits for steam to escape. Seal. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake @ 400 degrees for 50 minutes or till done.

This recipe came from Mom by way of a cookbook. She would make several of these at the same time and freeze them for future use. My family ( except Rita, a non pie eater) loves this pie and I especially enjoy making it for Andy.....its his all time favorite.
