1 cup of buttermilk (whole)
1 cup of butter (whole)
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. of baking soda
3 1/2 cups of flour
1 8oz. package of dates, chopped
1 small package of orange slice candy, chopped
1 cup of coconut, chopped pecans, (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the sugar, butter and eggs, set aside. Add the baking soda to the buttermilk, set aside. Mix candy slices, dates and coconut/nuts(if desired) and sprinkle flour over the mixture. Add dates/nuts to the sugar mixture, add buttermilk mixture until completely combined. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan 1 hour at 350 degrees or until well done.
