1 Cup Butter or margarine
1 ½ cup sugar
1 egg
1 ½ tsp orange peel (grated)
2 Tblsp dark corn syrup
1 Tblsp water
3 ¼ Cups sifted flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp soda
2 tsp ginger
½ tsp cloves

Combine all ingredients. Chill and roll ½ inch thick. Sugar, almonds or pecans may be sprinkled on top before baking.

Bake 8-10 minutes
