This recipe for CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (Joel Bratt’s), by Mary Jo Creevy, is from Mary Jo's Family Cookbook Project,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 c. butter (2 sticks) softened 1 c. sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. vegetable oil 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 T. milk 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt ¼ tsp. cream of tartar 3-3/4 c. flour 24 oz chocolate chips 1 c. chopped pecans
Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add oil and egg. Continue beating until mixture is light and fluffy. Add vanilla, milk, soda, salt, cream of tartar and flour, blending well. Blend in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 until very lightly browned.
You probably wonder who Joel Bratt is - I found this recipe in the Grand Rapids Press one time and loved the cookies. It makes a lot - so plan to take them to work with you or freeze them.
