Grandma’s Cooked Top Pineapple Lemon Jello Recipe

3 packages lemon Jello
3 bananas
2 cans crushed pineapple

Cooked Top:
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. pineapple juice
1 tbsp. butter
˝ cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 container Cool-Whip
Cherries, Nuts

Mix Jello according to instructions on the box. Add chopped bananas and drained pineapple and put in a rectangular casserole or baking dish.

Put the Jello mixture in the refrigerator and let it harden.
After the Jello is hardened, make the Cooked-Top to put on the dessert.

Cooked Top:
Mix all of the cooked top ingredients in a sauce pan except the vanilla. Cook on low heat until gently bubbling. Take off heat and add the vanilla. Let this mixture cool.

When it is cooled, add the mixture
to the Cool Whip and put the topping on the jello mixture. Decorate with cherries and/or nuts if desired.
