1 pound of ground beef or Italian sausage
1 jar (26 oz.) pasta sauce
1 cup of water
1 carton (15oz) ricotta or cottage cheese
1 egg
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
8 lasagna noodles uncooked
4 cups (16oz) shredded mozzarella cheese

Pan fry ground beef
Spray 13x9 baking dish with cooking spry
In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley and oregano. spread one third of the pasta sauce over the bottom of the greased baking dish. Layer with half of the noodles and half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. Top with a third of the sauce. Layer remaining noodles, ricotta cheese mixture and mozzarella cheese. Top with the remaining sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and black olives, if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight
Remove lasagna form the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake uncovered, at 350º for about 1 hour or until noodles are tender and sauce is bubbly. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving
