1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
11/2 cups sugar- divided
3/4 cup milk
4 or 5 large fresh peaches or large can of canned peaches (drain peaches)
1/4 cup water or peach juice if using canned peaches

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in 9x9 baking dish. Mix flour,baking powder, 1 cup sugar and milk; pour into baking dish. Peel and slice peaches; arrange over batter.
Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup sugar over peaches. pour juice over peaches. Bake in preheated 350º
