1 c flour 2 T shortening, melted
2 t baking powder 1/2 t salt
3/4 c sugar 2 T cocoa
1/2 c milk 3/4 c nuts, chopped
1 t vanilla
Topping:
1 c brown sugar 1/4 c cocoa
1 3/4 c hot water
optional: marshmallows or whipped cream

Directions:
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and
cocoa. Add milk, vanilla, shortening and mix until
smooth. Pour into greased 8"- 8" pan.
2. Mix brown sugar and cocoa and sprinkle over
batter. Pour hot water over all.
3. Bake at 350 for 40-45 min.
4. If desired top with marshmallows and return to oven
to melt.
* I don't remember having it with marshmallows. We usually had it with whipped cream.
