2 T. grated onion
1/2 c. margarine
1/4 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. half and half
2 c. chicken broth
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
3 c. chopped fresh broccoli
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion in butter. Add flour gradually, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk, half and half and chicken broth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly. Stir in salt, garlic powder and basil. Add broccoli. Cover and cook over medium heat 15 minutes or until tender.
