1/2 c. flour.
1/2 c. plain bread crumbs.
1/2 tsp.salt.
1/2 tsp. pepper.
1 1/2c. milk.

Directions:
Directions:
Cut the stem and the root off the onion, then slice onion in half, slice each half 4 or 5 times into a spoke..then separate the onion pieces. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.
Whisk in milk until batter is smooth then let batter sit for 5 minutes...whisk batter again.
Fry in Crisco or canola oil.
Drop only 8 - 12 onion pieces at a time for 1-2 min.
