* 2 cups flour
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 2 Tablespoons shortening
* 3/4 cups water
* 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
1. In large bowl sift flour, baking powder and salt.
2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
3. Mix in water to make a smooth dough. Kneed lightly on a floured surface.
4. Cut dough into 12 pieces, shape into round balls and set aside.
5. Heat oil in deep frying pan
6. On a lightly floured surface roll dough into thin slices. Cut, fry drain well on paper towls (repeat)
