2-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon salad oil
3 eggs
1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1-1/2 cups milk
3 cups flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds

GLAZE:
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoon melted butter
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup orange juice
1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together sugar, eggs and salad oil. Add vanilla, salt and almond extract. Mix in milk, flour and baking powder. Finally add poppy seeds. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes at 350º in 2 large greased loaf pans.

For glaze: Mix in saucepan and heat. When bread is done, poke holes in top with toothpick, then pour on glaze. The holes enable the glaze to soak in.
