1 1/2 c chocolate wafer cookies (about 28)
1/4 c slivered almonds
1/4 c - 1/2 stick butter melted
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
for crust
1 pckge 12 ounces semisweet choc. chips
1 1/2 lbs cream cheese room temp.
3/4 c sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
4 eggs room temp.
1 c sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla.
heavy cream for whip cream topping

bake at 325. Wrap outside of 9" springform pan with foil - for crust mix cookie crumbs, butter, sugar, and salt in bowl - pat evenly over bottom of pan.
filling - melt chips in micro wave - beat in cream cheese, sugar, & cornstarch in large bowl until creamy - 2 min. -- add eggs 1 at time beating well -- beat in melted chocolate, sour cream, and vanilla
pour filling in over crust
place springform pan in large baking pan on oven rack. Pour hot water into pan to come 1/2 way up side of springform pan. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes
Remove springform pan from water, remove foil, and run knife around inside of pan - let cool on rack then refrigerate uncovered 6 hours or overnight
to serve slice and add dollop of homemade whip cream - for added garnish add fresh raspberries
