Directions:
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside. In 3 qt casserole, melt butter. Warm milk in microwave for 1 minute. Into melted butter, stir flour, salt, Worcestershire, mustard, and pepper.
Gradually stir warmed milk into flour mixture. Cook on HI (max. power) 3 minutes, stirring once during cooking. Stir, cook on HI 1 minute, or until smooth and thickening. Blend in cheese. Stir until melted. Add cooked macaroni. Top with buttered breadcrumbs, if desired. Cook on 60 (bake) 7 or 8 minutes, or until mixture is bubbling. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving.

*This makes a fairly firm mac & cheese. If you like it saucier, reduce the macaroni to 2 1/2 cups.

This is almost as good as Mom's oven baked Mac & Cheese! But it's prepared in a fraction of the time. We follow family tradition and serve it with ketchup.
