1 1/4 c. margarine
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, unsifted
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
3 c. rolled oats (quick or old fashioned)
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. Beat margarine and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, soda, salt and spices. Add to margarine mixture. Combine with dates and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet, remove to cooling rack. Store in tightly covered container.

Caution-Do Not Over Bake! Cookies will not appear done, but you can experiment and vary time one minute more or less.
