1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400º.

Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.

Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon; roll balls in mixture. Place balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.

Makes 6 dozen cookies.
