1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 t. soda
4 c. plain flour
1 14oz, box of dates, chopped
1 lb. orange candy slices, chopped
2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. coconut
1 c. orange juice
1 c. powdered sugar

Cream butter with sugar, add eggs mix well.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk, then alternately add to flour dates, candy and nuts. Add to batter coconut and pour batter into 10 tube pan that's greased and floured.
Combine orange juice and powdered sugar, mix well and pour over cake when finished baking.
Let set over night. Cake can be wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in cooler for 2 wks.
