1 lb. ground beef
1 bay leaf
2 - 3 garlic cloves
1 large onion
19 oz. can tomatoes
5 1/2 oz. can tomato paste
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cps. water

Directions:
Directions:
Saute' meat, onion and garlic. Add remaining ingrediants and simmer, uncovering 1 1/2 hours, stirring frequently. For spicy foods, add crushed chili pepper to taste while simmering. Put into jars to preserve. Boil in canner for 20 minutes.
