1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening, softened
1/4 c. milk
1/2 t. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 t. salt
1/2 t. soda
2 t. baking powder

1. combine egg, sugar, and shortening. Beat well.
2. Add sifted dry ingredients and liquids. Mix thoroughly.
3. chill about 45 min. before rolling.
4. Roll 3/8 in. thick; cut; place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 fro about 10 min.
