Directions:From Tracie (daughter of Hugh Sharp) That is the best memory I have of MawMaw and Papaw Sharp's house. We always had a good time and the wall was the best. Thanks for reminding me what the simple things in life still mean to me.
From Mac (son of Helen Miller) What can I say Brenda, except for the birth of Grant and Emily, those holiday memories at MawMaw's and PawPaw's are the most precious. The drive to their house although it was about 5 miles seemed to take forever.
From Mark (son of Helen Miller) I cherish so many vivid holiday memories of everyone together. The love and the laughter was always so special and in great supply. I am proud of the legacy and often remember those days fondly. There was no better place than our little corner of the world. Although the miles are many, those special times with Mawmaw (so happy to have everyone near) was a cherished time that we must all hold dear. The special treat for me was when we would gather around the piano with you and fill that special place with the true joy of music that has long been a staple of our family. Thank you for the gift of unconditional kindness and love that Poppaw and Mawmaw taught us and you continue to pass on. I am so grateful and thankful. Life is truly good!
From Gina (daughter of Helen Miller) I remember so many things about Thanksgiving with the Sharps. I remember counting down the days until we could all be together. As an adult I still find myself counting the days until my too infrequent trips "home". I remember Mawmaw making dressing without celery because me and Kelly didn't like celery. I remember playing red light/green light on the stairs in the basement. I remember being deathly afraid of the blanket chest in the basement because Tracy said it looked like a casket. Most of all I remember how happy we were just being together. The laughter that filled that house is something that will always be part of me. The joys that fills my heart makes me so thankful to be born in a family like ours. A family that no matter what you have done or where you go you know when you return you will be welcomed with open arms and a big plate of food! I love you all and really miss you not only on Thanksgiving but every day of the year. I love you all! |
