There's a special person I know
That I love so dearly
Even though she's getting older
And doesn't see quite as clearly.

She's been in my life
For fifty-seven years
I know there's been times
When I brought her to tears.

For the things that I did
While in my other life
Were not to be proud of
Yet she loved me thru strife.

She's been an example
That I'd like to follow
For never a time have I heard
Her raise her voice or holler.

She took life in stride
Did what had to be done
And God blessed her with
Two wonderful sons.

I want her to know
Just what she has meant
I'll always treasure
The times we have spent.

I'll never forget
All the love that she gave
She's a part of the reason
My life is now saved.

So if you've never had
An aunt as special as this
You've had a pretty dull life
And don't know what you've missed.
