1 T. butter
1 c. rice
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 can consume, add water to make 1 3/4 c.
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp. shortening
4 pork chops

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a skillet; add chopped onion to brown slightly. Add rice. Stir the mixture until it turns a little yellow. Place in a pan with boiling consume and water. Add salt and pepper. Cover and simmer gently 15 -20 min. until liquid is cooked in. In the skillet, add shortening and pork chops until they are browned. Season and turn down heat. Let chops steam while rice cooks. Place rice in a casserole with chops on top. Put a little water in the skillet to get drippings; pour over chops and rice. Cover with foil. Bake at 350º for 45 min. Uncover and cook 15 min. or until chops are brown.
