1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
Blend all 3 ingredients in a bowl. Mix in:
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups rolled oates
Filling:
1 cup dates
1/2 cup water
Break dates in to pieces and cook on the stovetop until it looks like jam.

Press half of the mixture in 8x8 greased square pan.over with filling then rest of crumbs. Bake at 325º for 35 to 40 mins.
