2 cups white sugar
1 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp butter
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup white syrup
2 cups unroasted peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly combine the sugar, syrup, and water in a large, heavy skillet. Cook slowly. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Cook to soft ball stage (235ºF). Remove the candy from the heat while testing. Add nuts and salt to the mixture. Cook to hard crack stage (300ºF) Stir constantly. Remove from heat and add butter and Baking soda. Stir to blend. Mixture will bubble. Pour onto greased platters. Cool partially by lifting edges. Keep spatula moving under mixture so it won't stick when firm. Turn over. When cold, break into pieces.
