1 tsp. soda
1 c. dates, cut up
1 c. boiling water
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 T. fat
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. bread flour

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle soda over cut up dates and pour boiling water over both. Combine sugar, salt, fat and egg; add nuts and date mixture and flour. Pour into greased pan and bake at 300º for 1 hour.
