2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sour milk
3 c. corn meal
1 c. white flour
2 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add salt. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Then add alternately sour milk and sifted mixture of corn meal, flour and soda. Bake in a greased loaf pan at 375º about 45 minutes, or until it tests done with a toothpick.
