3 cups sliced peaches
1 cup sugar
1 T. lemon juice
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 T. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
2 T. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Arrange peaches in casserole. Sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice. Heat in oven while preparing dough. Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add egg and milk all at once. Stir until flour is just moistened. Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake @ 400º for 35-40 min.
