2 c. milk
1 pkg. yeast
1 T. warm water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Bring milk to a boil and cool to luke warm. Dissolve the yeast in to the water. Add shortening, sugar and dissolved yeast to the cooled milk. Mix. Add enough flour to make a batter. Let rise for 1 hr. Add baking powder, salt and baking soda to the risen batter. Turn out onto a well floured board and knead as biscuits. pinch off and shape rolls. Placed on a greased baking sheet and let rise for about 1 1/2 hours. Bake in a preheated oven at 400º.
