1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 squares chocolate, melted
Grated rind of one orange
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 c. orange juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Add beaten egg yolks and mix well. Add the chocolate, orange rind, orange juice and vanilla; mix well. Mix the soda with the buttermilk and add to creamed mix alternately with flour. Beat well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and pour into 3 greased and waxed paper 9" cake pans. Bake at 350.
