1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. unsifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
6 oz. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Add nuts and chips. Bake at 375º.
