Ingredients:  
1 gal. peeled ripe tomatoes, sprinkled with salt and let stand for about 1 hour, drain
6-8 big onions, sliced
2 or 3 cups sugar
1 qt. white vinegar
Pickling spices to taste (in a muslin bag).

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until thick and pour into hot sterile jars and seal.
