2 1/2 sticks butter or margarine (1 1/2 c.)
6 eggs, slightly beaten
1 lb., plus 2 tbsp. dark brown sugar
10 T. granulated sugar
1/4 t. salt
2 T. vanilla
2 T. whiskey (or water)
2 T. rum (or water)
4 c. flour
1 c. whole wheat flour

Directions:
Mix first 8 ingredients in large bowl with electric mixer. Add flour 1 cup at a time, mixing until all is incorporated. Refrigerate overnight. Preheat regular waffle iron or French Belgian cookie iron to medium high. Place 1 tablespoon dough in center of each section. Bake 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Remove to wire rack. Cool; sprinkle with powdered sugar.
