1/2 pound dry pinto or kidney beans (can substitute two 16-oz. cans red beans,or other beans, drained)
2 - 14 oz. cans tomatoes
1 1/2 pound ground beef, browned & drained
1/2 pound ground pork sausage, browned & drained
1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
1 green pepper, coarsely chopped
1 cloves garlic, crushed
2 to 3 tbsp. chili powder
1 t. pepper
1 t. cumin
salt to taste

Completely soften dry beans as directed on package. Put all ingredients in crock pot in order listed. Stir once. Cover and cook on Low 10-12 hours or High 3-4 hours.
