¾ cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
4 tablespoons molasses
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
Sugar for coating

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream together shortening and sugar with a mixer. Add eggs and molasses. Mix well and add dry ingredients. Shape a generous Tablespoon of dough into a ball and roll in sugar. Bake 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 10 to 15 minutes for crispy cookies. Makes 3 dozen.
