3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
3 cups old fashioned or 1 minute oats
Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl put shortening, egg, water, and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add flour, soda, and salt and mix well. Blend in oats. Drop by heaping teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 365º for 12-15 minutes.
Optional: pecans, raisins, coconut, M&M candy, chocolate chips, and candied fruit.
