1 1/4 Cup Shortening
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 1/2 Cup Molasses
1 Egg
2 Cups Flour
1 tsp. Ginger
1 1/2 tsp Allspice
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup flour
2 cups flour
4 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, brown sugar, molasses and egg together. Add 2 cups flour, ginger and allspice. Mix well and add boiling water and 1 cup flour. Add flour, soda and salt after you have sifted it 3 times. Add altogether and let stand 1 hour. Roll 1/4 inch thick and cut. Cook till lightly brown. - 350 degrees
