1 medium onion, diced
juice from 1-2 limes
1 tsp. to 1 tbsp. cilantro, chopped
1 jalapeņo pepper cored and chopped (more or less depending on how spicy you want it)
1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
salt to taste

This is a general recipe. Adjust proportions to your taste. Mix together all ingredients. Use with tortilla chips or as an accompaniment to tacos.
