1 cup butter
2 cups dark brown sugar (packed)
2 lightly beaten eggs
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. nutmeg
1/2 cup sour milk*
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped dates

Thoroughly cream the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs and beat well. Sif together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixtur alternately with the milk. Add the fruits and nuts. Drops from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 375F for about 15 minutes.

Yields: approximately 4 dozen cookies
