2 1/2 cups flour
2 T. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1 1/2 baking soda
1 t. salt
1 T. chopped sage (or herb of your choice)
1 1/2 cups beer (freshly opened)
1 cup finely grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Grease and flour a 9" loaf pan. In a medium bowl, stir together; flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sage. Stir in cheese and beer until completely blended. Spread evenly in the loaf pan. Bake until tester comes clean, about 50 to 55 minutes. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove the bread from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
