2 cups flour
2 dups sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 cup crisco
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
2 tsp. vanilla
3-1/2 cups cocoa

Icing
1 stick margarine
3-1/2 Tbs. cocoa
1/3 cup milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1Tbs. vanilla

Directions:
Combine flour and sugar in mixing bowl. In small sauce pan, slowly heat oleo, water, cocoa, crisco, then bring to boil. Pour this mixture over flour and sugar. Add beaten eggs, vanilla and cocoa. Mix well. Pour into greased oblong cake pan. Bake at 400-degrees for 25 minutes.

When cake is baking, combine all ingredients for icing. Bring to boil and add 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 box powdered sugar, 1 cup chopped pecans. Pour over hot cake when removed from oven.
