2/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 large bananas

2 1/2 cups flour
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1/3 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, buttermilk and bananas. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt, add to first mixture. Then add 1/3 cup buttermilk, eggs and nuts.
Bake at 350º about 35 minutes or until done in greased and floured loan pans. Makes 2 loaves.
