1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 well beaten egg
1/2 c. milk

1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. chopped walnuts or peacans
1 T. all-puropse flour
1 t. ground cinnamon
1 T. butter or margerin, melted

Directions:

sift 1 1/2 c. flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt into mixing bowl; cut in shortening till resembles coarse crumbs. mix egg; and all at once to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.
combine brown sugar, nuts, 1 T. flour, cinnamon and melted butter. place half of batter in greased muffin pans. sprinkle nut mixture over, then top with remaining batter, filling pans 1/2 full. bake at 350 about 20 minutes.
