1 lb. Ground Beef, 1 lb. Ground Pork , 8 cups water 2 1/2 cups Dorsel's Pinhead Oatmeal,1 large Onion, 1 to 4 Bay Leaves ( opinion ),3t Salt,A pinch of Pepper
* Variation: Substitute 2 t Dried Summer Savory in place of Onion & Bay Leaves

Regular Method
1.Heat water in a large Dutch oven pot, when boiling add salt pepper oatmeal.
2 Cook over low heat with lid, stir often
3. Add meats, onion, Bay leaf, mix well
4. Let cook 1 hour, stirring often
5. Pour into bread pans, when cool refrigerant,or cover with foil or plastic wrap and freeze for future use
6.When ready to use Heat 2 Tsp bacon grease and fry until browned well.
Slow Method
Use the same ingredients, except use only 6 Cups Water
1 Put water, salt, pepper in a slow cooker on high for 20 minutes
2. Stir in oatmeal, cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 hours
3. Add meat, onion, Bay leaf- mix well Cover and cook on low for three hours
4. Uncover - if not thick enough cook a little longer. Stir often
5. Proceed to steps 5 & 6 of Regular Method
