2.5 cups Chicken or Vegetable Stock
1 lg Onion (Whole)
2 cloves garlic (diced)
2 large potatoes (peeled and diced)
2 cups of diced ham or hot dogs
Salt and pepper to taste.

Soak 1 lb. (16oz.) peas until they float (about 1/2 hour). Fill large pot with peas and stock. Peel onion and let it float whole. Add garlic to pot. Bring to boil.

Stir frequently.

After one hour, peel 2 lg. potatoes, dice small, and add to the boiling pot. Cook for another 1/2 hour.

Add salt and pepper. Add ham or hot dogs just before finished.

Soup thickens upon cooking. Add water, if necessary. Remove onion!
