1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup thick applesauce
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp.cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup raisins,
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add applesauce. Sift together dry ingredients then add to applesauce mixture. Fold in raisins and nuts. Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
