1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1-1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
ICING
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup condensed milk
1 cup coconut
6 tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add water to oats and let stand 20 minutes. Cream shortening, sugars, and eggs. Pour into oat mixture and beat well. Add sifted flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Bake in 9X13 pan for 30 minutes. Blend icing mixture and spread on baked cake. Place cake under broiler until it bubbles.
