Ingredients:
1 Cup unsalted butter at room temp.
3 cups sugar
4 eggs
6 cups all purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
tsp. salt
2 cups toasted and skinned hazelnuts or pecans
Warm melted bittersweet chocolate for dipping

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees, using middle rack. Butter 2 large baking sheets

In large bow, using electric mixer, on medium speed, beat butter and sugar until just combined. Beat in egg. In another large bowl, stir in flour, baking powder and salt. On low speed, beat half of flour mixture into butter mixture until combined. Beat in Pecans (or hazelnuts) and then remaining flour mixture.

Transfer dough into lightly floured work surface and knead briefly until dough holds together. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Shade into a loaf 9" long and 3 wide. Place on prepared baking sheets. Bake until loaves are golden and firm when tops are lightly touched. Remove and cool slightly. Using spatula, transfer loaves to work surface and cut crosswise on a slight diagonal in slice 1/2 thick. Arrange slices cut side down on baking sheet. Return to oven and bake until golden and crisp. (30 minutes or so.) Cool completely and dip one side into chocolate. Refrigerate until chocolate is set.
