Persimmon Cookies Recipe

1 c. Sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. Flour
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. Chopped Walnuts
1c. Chopped Dates
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. persimmon pulp

Combine sugar, shortening, egg and persimmon pulp, beat well. Mix in flour, spices, salt, soda and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture. Add nuts, dates and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes according to your oven.
