1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter,softened
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 t. almond extract
1/4 t. salt
1 1/12 c. flour
1/3 c. blueberry preserves (or any jam you like)
1/3 c. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together butter ans sugar in a bowl with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes; then beat in extract and salt. Add flour and mix at low speed until just combined.

Reserve 1/3 c. of dough, chill, wrap in plastic wrap. Press remainder onto bottom and sides of a 10 in. tart pan with removable bottom. Chill shell until firm, about 30 min.

Preheat oven to 350º

Spread preserves over bottom of tart shell, then crumble reserved dough evenly over preserves. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 30-35 min. Cool tart in pan on rack, then remove side of pan.
