1 C. shortening
3/4 C. brown sugar
3/4 C. white sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 3/4 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 T. hot water
1 C. chopped nuts
1- 6 oz. chocolate chips
2 C. quick oats
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs. Mix well flour, bk. powder, soda, salt and hot water. Add to shortening mixture. Add the remaining ingredients. Bake in 350º oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
